When you travel you want to enjoy on experiences, foods and even on your sleep. But a definite pain when it comes to travelling is Transportation. Although we can’t help it go away completely but we can help you reduce the pain !

1.Travel at the cheapest times

The price of flights varies considerably depending on the month, day and even time of travel. Try to compare flight prices across a whole month meaning you’ll be able to see the cheapest days to fly, saving you a potential packet. Avoiding the weekends can make a huge impact on the price of flights. Travel on a weekday, (negotiate with your boss, if you can J) it is always cheaper. For Bus or Train, it is usually the same but booking it in advance can certainly help you reduce the last minute jitters.

2.Travel in low season

One major factor of frustration and disappointment especially in our country, is faced by people who travel in High-Season. There are parking issues, over-crowd, Traffic, general chaos and high prices. If you can avoid it, Travel off-season and you’re sure to find better bargains. Much of Uttarakhand still has beautiful weather come July-to March. Flights, hotels, transport will be cheaper and your destination a lot less crowded.

3. Try Unique Staying Options instead of a hotel.

Cheap Lodges, Budget Hotels, Homestays, Hostels, are springing up like mushrooms in the rains in Uttarakhand, especially in places which are high on Demand. Bunkotel is also one such cheap hotel option in Mussoorie,Uttarakhand for Budget travelers who travel in groups, where ever Bunkotel is not still present, you can try various cheap hotels or homestays.

 

4. Eat Like a Local

Not only is tasting new cuisines part of the joy of travelling but you’re likely to eat far better as well as saving money, when you eat like a local. From cheap dhabas (Fire Lit) in Uttarakhand where fresh produce is usually locally sourced and tastier, rather than imported from Plains. Try not to eat meat as it will tend to be expensive. If they’ve had to transport a vegetable from plains it’s not going to come cheap! Find street food to savour, no matter where you’re off to!
